Policy on Provisional Registration
legislation refer to section 15 and section 16 of the veterinarians act 2005 policy the council has delegated to the registrar the power to approve straightforward applications for registration under s12 of the veterinarians act and section 20 of the trans tasman mutual recognition act 1997 subject to all required documentation being provided the application also being checked by another vcnz staff member applications involving significant fitness to practise declarations being referred to the registration committee in circumstances where not all the required documentation has been provided the registrar is empowered to approve provisional registration subject to receipt of certified application for registration (can be faxed or emailed) application fee letter of good standing direct from overseas regulatory body (can be faxed or emailed) certified copy of the identification pages of the applicantβs passport or drivers license (can be faxed or emailed) the council has also delegated to the registrar the power under s15(5) to cancel the provisional registration of those who have failed to provide the required additional information within 6 months of being provisionally registered the veterinarians act does not provide for provisional registration to be available to limited or specialist registration applicants download a pdf version of this policy https //archbee doc uploads s3 amazonaws com/mlj4eeshzmqx2zicib9bn avtxg8 wc13mao2cust2n 20250709 220914 pdf
